I absolutely loved and loved staying at this hostel! The staff are super friendly, speaks great English and cares about the guests. The security is good, each room has a card swiper to enter. The reception area is gorgeous with big windows and great view. Very budget friendly, even though it has an elegant feel with lovely decorations. The bedding is clean, ultra soft and the area is well aired and you really can’t hear any noise from the lobby. The bed curtain is very thick so no light enters, which was perfect for me to sleep soundly. I got to meet lots of other international guests, got to read good books and enjoyed the fast internet. Will stay here again later

I actually booked for only a dormitory bed, but i never thought a dormitory bed room have more then 36 beds in a room. About 16 beds in a space with a z-zack door then another 16 beds next to it also with a z-zack door and my bed just in front of one of the space. almost every day i can hear a group of "army" in & out the space with the door open and close. and also continue 4 days in the morning 5.30am, a group of indonesia tourists talking so loud for 1hr. I have wake up and told them is 5.30 in the morning and other still sleeping but they just fail to low down their volume. So I stay there for 7 days, every day i dont really have a good sleep. Few night at 1 something midnight, i also can heard some people chatting at the comment area. The only time that i have good sleep is 6pm evening, i really have 2hrs good nap. The bed is great quality, but the room have some smell like moisture, guess is too many people drying their wet cloths inside the room. 2nd, the wonderful breakfast they mention on booing.com is not really so wonderful, Everyday the same Ham & Egg sandwich, no other choice. Sometime i prefer just simple Butter & jam sandwich 3rd, the local staff quality need to upgrade. as a local people dont really know what good food near by? only know the nearest night market? other then that ask to google search? Haha, what a cute staff. 4th, the laundry heater. i have paid more then 100mins just to dry up my tshirt and some socks, oh! and also a jean. The comment area actually a very nice to hang around.

Desk staff is insincere. Breakfast is the same sandwich everyday with some cheap ingredients. Every time you leave you have to wait for someone to take you up the elevator to get back to your room. EVEN if you forget something. This doesn't ensure safety either since anyone can enter the building, it's just a pseudo-security measure. ALSO, the guy who escorted me when I arrived couldn't have been less helpful, I greeted him and when I said Hi and introduced myself, he just stared at me then didn't help me with the reception or anything, seriously, who hired him? In general the staff was pretty dismissive. Rooms were fine, but to be honest the bed got itchy after a couple nights and I found small red spots on my legs that are gone now. Even after changing the sheets this happened. Looking back at it I probably should have mentioned it to the staff for the safety of the next guest but I got the impression they wouldn't have done anything. Bathroom products also have SKIN WHITENERS in the them. I know this sort of colorist bs is normatized in Taiwan but I was really repulsed by the lack of awareness this hostel had for not warning its guests who are international travelers and may not want to use this carcinogenic mess to bleach their skin.. Shows you what kind of hostel it is for real. Maybe you'll experience this elsewhere too, it's not to say it's unique here but I'd take my chances elsewhere and at least you can avoid the stupid elevator thing. This place is just exceptionally bad with a mediocre location.

During the check-in, the hostel requested NTD200 as a deposit for 2 keys, said it will be returned during the check-out. However, the reception only open at 7 a.m. and I need to check out at 6 a.m. to catch train to Hualien at 7 a.m. Reception staff were nowhere to be found during that time. So, I left the 2 keys on the reception table and told the Indonesian cleaner to inform the staff regarding my check out. I immediately messaged the hostel regarding my early check-out and for them to refund back my NTD200 deposit but looking at their response, it seems that my NTD200 is going to burn anyway. I feel like I've been cheated. In Agoda website, it stated that the front desk is open 24-hour, unfortunately it will only open at 7 a.m. THE HOSTEL INFORMATION IN AGODA IS VERY MISLEADING. I wouldn't book this hostel if only I knew the front desk will open at certain time as I need to check-out really early. Plus, there is no physical signage at the building lobby. Very inconvenience, every time if you want to get up to the hostel at 4th floor, you will need to get the guard to call to ask for a "pick-up".

I and my friends stayed here two weeks ago and it was fine and hassle-free. The hostel is most likely 7-minutes away from Zhongshan station and is actually surrounded by convenience stores, small eateries, and some establishments. They gave us breakfast coupons as well (consist of slices of sandwich, orange, and your choice of drink), just enough to fill up your stomach in the morning. Also, since it's pretty cheap, expect a common toilet and bath for girls. By the way, we had bunk beds in a dormitory room, not quite sure how many of us were there. Ningxia night market is just nearby, make sure to try the wagyu cubes!!! Going with the cons, someone from the reception needs to come down first before you guys can ride the elevator. In addition, it's kinda hassle if you will be sleeping on the upper bunk bed, so make sure to have a request beforehand.
